Anja Portin’s Novel Titled “Radyo Popov” is Published by Can Yayınları

Radio Popov is a cozy novel with an exciting and funny plot that will become one of the favorite classics of its readers.

Nine-year-old Alfred is a lonely boy. His mother has long since disappeared and his father never returns from business trips. One night he meets Amanda, a kind woman who helps neglected children like Alfred by putting wool socks and food in his mailbox.

Alfred’s life changes completely thanks to this mysterious woman. In Amanda’s house, he finds a radio transmitter designed by the Russian physicist A.S. Popov, and starts a radio program for neglected children like himself. Thus begins a bizarre adventure for Alfred that will shake everything up!

ANJA PORTIN was born in Helsinki in 1971. She studied Comparative Literature at the Universities of Helsinki and Turku. Her first book Obituary (Ölüm İlanı) was published in 2019. In 2020, he received Finlandia Junior, Finland’s most prestigious children’s literature award, for his book Radio Popov.

ÖZGE BAUER studied Finnish Language and Culture at the University of Eastern Finland, Finnish Language at the University of Helsinki and Finnish Language and Literature at Tallinn University. She continues her doctoral studies on “Turkology Education in Finland”. Bauer, who translates for both the Embassy of Finland and various publishing houses, has translated the works of writers and poets such as Ari Turunen, Selja Ahava, Alexandara Salmela, Tove Jansson, Linda Liukas, Eero Ojanen, Juice Leskinen, Rakel Liehu, Kai Nieminen, Lauri Otonkoski, Claes Andersson into Turkish.
