Can Yayınları Publishes Rıdvan Hatun’s First Book Billur Örüntüler

Stories of trapped worlds and people trying to breathe.

With his first book Billur Örüntüler, Rıdvan Hatun writes the stories of those who grope in the darkness to reach the light.

“Do you think the train comes first or the snow falls first?”
“I don’t know, I think it would be more beautiful if it starts snowing first.”
“Yes… If it snows first and then the train passes through the snowflakes.”
If the wind blew the crystalline patterns in our faces
If we squint our eyes
If he blows the whistle
Back home

In his first book, Billur Örüntüler, Rıdvan Hatun tells the story of people groping in the dark trying to reach the light switch.

People struggling to survive, people struggling for others to survive, people shouldering the difficult burden called family.

There are big, unsettling narratives in these stories from small scenes of different worlds. You never know where the punch will come from.

RIDVAN HATUN was born in Diyarbakır. In 2013, he dropped out of Marmara University Computer Education Department and moved to Germany. He lives in Nuremberg. His stories were published in Notos, Sözcükler, Varlık, Kitaplık, Trendeki Yabancı magazines. Billur Örüntüler is her first story book.
