Applications are open for the 4th Oğuz Atay Story Award organized by İnebolu Culture and Art Association. The deadline to apply for the competition is May 30.
Participation Conditions:
- Participation is open to everyone. There is no subject limitation. Writers who have won awards in previous Oğuz Atay Short Story Awards cannot apply for the award.
- Only short story applications are accepted. Novel, essay, poetry, etc. Applications made in different types will be excluded from evaluation.
- Participation will be with a story. A person cannot apply with more than one story.
- Stories should be prepared in Times New Roman font, 12-point font, and not exceeding 15 pages. When submitting a work, it should be taken into consideration that the award is a short story award.
- Stories that have previously been published in any print or virtual environment and/or have received awards will not be evaluated. During the evaluation process, if it is determined that all or part of the story has been published, it will be excluded from evaluation.
- The stories must be saved in a Word document and sent to the specified e-mail address.
- Applications made by post, cargo or by hand will not be accepted.
- The stories participating in the Oğuz Atay Short Story Award are presented to the selection committee with their author identities confidential. For this reason, care should be taken to not include any information about the identity of the author in the file containing the story. Authors should use a pseudonym in the upper right corner of their stories.
- Along with the story file, the authors should state their identities, nicknames, contact information and a short CV in another file bearing the name of the story.
- The legal responsibility of the stories sent to the competition belongs to the author.
- It is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that the works meet the participation conditions and reach the application address. Authors whose participation is approved will be informed by a message. No feedback will be given for works that do not comply with the application conditions.
- The award-winning story and the stories deemed worthy of publication by the selection committee will be published as a memoir named Oğuz Atay Story Award 2024, bearing the name of the award-winning story. Stories outside of this book will not be used anywhere else.

4th Oğuz Atay Short Story Awards
The award is given to a story called the Oğuz Atay Short Story Award. If necessary, the selection committee may divide the award or award the Special Jury Prize. The award-winning author will be given an Oğuz Atay book set and a plaque prepared for the Oğuz Atay Short Story Award 2024. Ten books each will be given as gifts to the authors whose stories appear in the upcoming book. Apart from this, no royalties will be paid.
