As an international event, the Women, Discourse, Action symposium aims to address how women contribute to both global and social change through their discourse and action. Therefore, it is important that participants from different geographies and cultures contribute.
These contributions in the name of intercultural interaction will increase the richness of the symposium and will play an important role in enabling us to have a broader perspective in ensuring global peace. On the other hand, the symposium is an interdisciplinary symposium that aims to provide an open platform for women examining all kinds of discourses. With this feature, it will bring together participants from different fields and provide an opportunity for a comprehensive discussion.
The “discourse” in the title of the symposium is considered as a language system that is put forward in various social contexts and in different fields (politics, media, law, literature, religion, cinema, etc.). In this framework, the aim of the symposium is to bring together researchers from various disciplines (sociology, psychology, political and legal sciences, linguistics, language teaching, etc.) and geographies working on the concepts of “women” and “discourse” on the one hand, and to analyze discourses that emphasize the power of women who struggle against the discourse of power on the other. In this context, the main topics of the symposium (but not limited to these) are as follows:

– Deadline for abstract submission: March 5, 2024
– Notification of accepted abstracts to the participants: April 20, 2024
– Publication of the symposium program: May 27, 2024
– Abstracts (not exceeding 500 words) will be in Times 12 font, single-spaced and Word format, and the name, surname and institution of the participant will not be included in the abstract.
– The evaluation of the papers will be made by two members of the scientific committee.
– 20 minutes will be given for the presentation of the papers and 10 minutes for question and answer.
– The symposium will only be held face-to-face.
International Symposium on Women, Discourse, Action will be held at Institut Français Izmir on June 10-11-12, 2024 with the contributions of Dokuz Eylül University, Limoges University, Istanbul University, Hacettepe University…
