27th Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival Applications Opened

Applications for the 27th Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival, which will be held this year between May 9 – 16, 2024, are now open.

The Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival draws attention to the struggle for women’s rights that they have been waging for years to become more visible in the film industry as in every field.

This year, as last year, the festival draws attention to the ongoing gender inequality despite the injustices suffered and the successes achieved with the theme “More is More, Not Less”, and as a sub-theme, “Remember the Flight”, inspired by the Iranian poet Fürug Ferruhzad, aims to remind the women’s struggle against all odds without giving up, without tiring, without despairing.

As every year, the festival will bring together national and international feature, documentary and short films by women filmmakers within the framework of the theme.

For the 27th Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival, the application form for women filmmakers who want to take part in the festival can be found on the foundation’s website and all social media accounts. Women filmmakers who want to take part in the festival with their short, long, medium, experimental or documentary films can apply until February 29.

Applicant films must be made in 2023 or 2024 and at least one of the directors must be a woman.

The winners of the Honorary Award, Bilge Olgaç Achievement Award, Young Witch Award and Theme Award, which are given annually at the festival, and program details will be announced in the coming days.
