The 11th Canlandıranlar International Film Festival will be held between 23-29 October 2023 at the Institut Français and Müze Gazhane in Istanbul…
The festival team has prepared a programme consisting of 64 short animated films from around the world and 24 short animated films from Turkey that were released in 2022 and 2023. You will have the chance to discover a total of 10 selections between 23-29 October.
In addition, 4 feature films will also be screened within the scope of the festival. Those films are “Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman” by Pierre Foldes inspired by Murakami’s universe, director Alain Ughetto’s stop-motion gem “Dogs and Italians Not Allowed” based on his family history, Michel Ocelot’s latest film “Pharaoh, Wild Man and Princess” and Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach’s film “Linda Wants Chicken!” which won this year’s Cristal d’Annecy award.
In addition to film screenings, the festival will also include conferences and panels on animation, including a historical session on animation and contemporary music. Workshops will be organised at the Museum Gas House.
During the festival, discussions and workshops will also take place at the Animation Café/Café de l’Animation, a temporary meeting place created at the Institut Français.
You will also be able to discover animated films in virtual reality.
To allow all animation fans to participate, a pass is available that gives access to all events.
