The author Édouard Louis, who has made a name for himself in France’s contemporary literary scene, will be a guest of Moda Sahnesi in Istanbul on June 18th and 19th.
Édouard Louis, who narrates social exclusion and class inequalities through his own life in his works, was first introduced to Turkish art lovers with the adaptation of his novel Who Killed My Father by Moda Sahnesi. The play, translated by Ayberk Erkay, directed by Kemal Aydoğan and starring Onur Ünsal, met with the audience for the first time on September 17th, 2020. Édouard Louis will also attend the screening of Who Killed My Father, which has continued to attract the audience’s attention in its 5th season, on June 18th.
Then, on June 19, a talk moderated by Édouard Louis and Ayberk Erkay, open to the audience, will be held on Louis’ perspective on literature, gender, class conflict and individual memory.
The talk will be in English and simultaneous translation will be provided for the participants.
