Semaver Kumpanya Weekday Workshop students will take the Semaver Kumpanya stage this week with Federico García Lorca’s Çingene’nin Şarkısı (Song of the Gypsy) after 4 months of training.
Song of the Gypsy is a collage work created by the BÜO by making use of Federico García Lorca’s plays Eskicinin Tazesi (The Old Man’s Fresh), Don Cristobita ile Dona Rosita’nın Acıklı Güldürüsü (The Pathetic Hilarity of Don Cristobita and Dona Rosita), Kanlı Düğün (Bloody Wedding) and Bernarda Alba’nın Evi (The House of Bernarda Alba). Song of the Gypsy consists of an outer story inspired by Lorca’s poems and an inner story consisting of various themes and episodes selected from his plays.
Directed by Onur Şenol and Mertcan Ertürk, Çingenenin Şarkısı (Song of the Gypsy) will premiere on March 1st.
It is a free event and there is no ticket sale.
