Cartoon artist Canol Kocagöz’s cartoon album titled “Çizginin Dili – Elli Yıl Seçkisi” was published with the label of Yazılama Publishing House. The album, which consists of meaningful, thought-provoking cartoons that make you smile, was printed in full color and on glossy paper. “Çizginin Dili – Elli Yıl Seçkisi” is 125 pages and the cover design is by Ender Özer.
Canol Kocagöz, known as a strong activist in the social opposition, says in the foreword of the album titled “Çizginin Dili – Fifty Years Selection”: “…The cartoon that is reactive and critical against the forces that do not want society to progress: The language of a line that is always in favor of labor, biased, uncompromising and combative. Cartoon is the blossoming bud and the most beautiful flower of our lives. The purple violet of our lives. It is as widespread, durable and robust as the pine tree in the forests. But always as hardworking and productive as ants.”
Stating that the main source of his half-century of caricature accumulation is sociality, Canol Kocagöz said about his new album, “It is a fifty year old selection. We took 1973, the year I joined the Cartoonists’ Association, as a benchmark. It consists of cartoons I drew in various periods. Of course, there are some prominent cartoons such as the ones I produced to help the working class party and its organization. The album also includes the writings of friends who witnessed my cartoon journey.”
The cartoon album titled “Çizginin Dili – Elli Yıl Seçkisi” is available from book sales websites and Yazılama Publishing House.
