FIDCampus Program for Young Filmmakers

FIDMarseille (Marseille International Film Festival), which will celebrate its 35th anniversary from 25 to 30 June, is organizing a training residency for students from art and film schools, young directors and filmmakers from 24 June to 1 July 2024.

The young filmmakers selected for the 11th edition of FIDCampus will start their residency with an exchange of ideas on their work with professionals. They will then participate in various meetings, screenings, masterclasses and workshops.

Participants will be invited to join the following program:
– Two days of private lectures and group discussions supervised by professionals (artists and filmmakers such as Miguel Gomes, Alice Rohrwacher, Ghassan Salhab, Caroline Champetier, Narimane Mari, Raphael Lefèvre, Raed Andoni, Stefano Savona, Marie Voignier, Claire Atherton, Kamal Aljafari, Phillip Warnell, including previous editions) focusing on the films presented by each of the young directors.

As part of FIDCampus 2023:
– Exclusive meetings with directors, programmers or producers invited to the festival
– Meetings with the programmers and organizers of FIDMarseille and FIDCampus who will present the festival and an overview of existing international festivals and co-production support platforms.

And also :
– Masterclasses by internationally renowned directors such as Whit Stillman,
– Case studies (editing, shooting, sound recording, post production, etc.) provided by professionals from around the world;
– Participation in panels, presentations by FIDLab project leaders and meetings with FIDLab 2024 – a platform supporting international co-production reserved for professionals.

Each participant will
– Round trip ticket
– Transfer from the airport
– 7 nights in Marseille
– Daily meals
– Transportation and program related activities
– FIDCampus will provide the festival pass card that allows entry to all screenings and events.

 

CALL FOR APPLICATION
Each school/institution can submit a maximum of 15 applications.

To register:
1. Create a VP user account in Eventival.
2. Notify Lisa Pison of the creation of this account by sending an email to the address below.
3. Lisa Pison will give each participant access to the online registration form.

Each participant can submit only one entry (usually for the last movie they made and less than 60 minutes in length).

The deadline for submission is March 17, 2024.

The selection is not systematic. The FIDMarseille selection committee can select up to one director from each school or partner cultural institution, based on the submitted film and individual motivation.
